报告摘要:

This presentation will detail the research performed in the areas of design and manufacturing at Florida Institute of Technology. The current design research focuses on developing computational representation and reasoning support for managing complex system design. The goal of the design research is to fundamentally reframe our understanding and utilization of system representations and computational reasoning capabilities to support the development of system models which help engineers and project planners intelligently make informed decisions at earlier stages of engineering design. On the manufacturing front, we develop optimization methods for manufacturing resources (labour, space, equipment, etc.) to support various manufacturing performance targets. Further, the development of manufacturing techniques for nontraditional environments (Moon, Mars) is also explored.
